Monuments
The P.O.S. of A. has been active in "rescuing" national treasures on the brink of destruction. Some of their efforts and accomplishments include:
- Saved Washington's Headquarters at Valley Forge.
- Donated ground to Pennsylvania Commonwealth for site of Washington Crossing State Park and Memorial Auditorium.
- Assisted in saving Betsy Ross Flag House in Philadelphia.
- Erected a monument at the grave of Betsy Ross in Philadelphia.
- Marked Daniel Boone’s Birthplace and erected a monument Conrad Weiser in Berks County, Pennsylvania.
- Terra Rubra, Maryland – Birthplace of Francis Scott Key, author of "National Anthem," marked.
- Unique monument of Washington in Prayer at Valley Forge erected in Camden, N.J.
- Dedicated a Fountain at Washington Crossing Park in New Jersey to the memory of John Honeyman.
- Assisted in the preservation of Cruiser Olympia. Prepared history of Ship.
