Monuments

The P.O.S. of A. has been active in "rescuing" national treasures on the brink of destruction. Some of their efforts and accomplishments include:
  • Saved Washington's Headquarters at Valley Forge.
  • Donated ground to Pennsylvania Commonwealth for site of Washington Crossing State Park and Memorial Auditorium.
  • Assisted in saving Betsy Ross Flag House in Philadelphia.
  • Erected a monument at the grave of Betsy Ross in Philadelphia.
  • Marked Daniel Boone’s Birthplace and erected a monument Conrad Weiser in Berks County, Pennsylvania.
  • Terra Rubra, Maryland – Birthplace of Francis Scott Key, author of "National Anthem," marked.
  • Unique monument of Washington in Prayer at Valley Forge erected in Camden, N.J.
  • Dedicated a Fountain at Washington Crossing Park in New Jersey to the memory of John Honeyman.
  • Assisted in the preservation of Cruiser Olympia. Prepared history of Ship.

Louisiana State Historical Marker
Commemorating the Restoration of
Franklin, Louisiana's Unique Lampposts
May 26, 2005

The Lampposts and Plaque were contributed to the
town of Franklin, with the P.O.S. of A. Defender Unit #1
being the primary contributor.
